CLEVELAND — Northern Ohio is in store for its second eclipse of October with a partial solar eclipse Thursday evening.
Clear skies across the area should make for a great viewing opportunity with a number of public viewing locations being set up with local astronomers bringing their telescopes so the public can get more intimate view of the eclipse.
Cleveland State University astronomy professor Jay Reynolds says the eclipse will begin across the Greater Cleveland at 5:43 pm as the moon begins to pass in front of the sun.
The eclipse will continue until sunset at 6:34 pm when only those in states west of Ohio will see the remainder of the eclipse. At that time, the moon will cover approximately 20% of the sun’s surface.
