GARRETTSVILLE – The Cleveland area Dirty Girl Mud Run is just over two weeks away. But many are wondering if the event will actually happen after another scheduled run in West Virginia was canceled just 3 days before.

“We All Decided to get together and do it last year,” said Denette Leavengood, a registrant for the race. “We had a great time doing it. So we thought, let’s do it again next Year.”

We tried contacting organizers for the race, but only got a full voicemail box with a canned response to visit the website. However, the website has no new info either.

Government officials also were in the dark on whether the event would happen as the event is supposed to happen on private property in Nelson Township.

Leavengood wasn’t upset about losing the money she spent, but was concerned about where the money will go now. A portion of the funds was supposed to go to charity.

“What will they do with all that money? Is it really going to go to breast cancer still or are they going to just walk away with it,” she said.

“That’s my biggest concern. Where is the money going if we don’t get it back?”
