PAINESVILLE, Ohio — Nothing’s worse than getting off work and seeing your driveway full of snow. Now, there’s an app to take care of that.
Whether your snow blower is broken or you just don’t feel like shoveling, the Plowz & Mowz app allows you to quickly get in touch with a snowplow driver near you.
The app is essentially the Uber of snowplowing. You register, give some details about your driveway and request a plow.
Chuck Glogouski with GreenEffect Landscaping is just one of the plow truck drivers available on demand through the app.
“We basically take the one that’s closest to us. Go plow it and go to the next one. No interaction with the customer. We basically just plow and the money gets deposited right into our accounts,” said Glogouski.
The app take cares of the payments, so customers don’t have to worry about bills coming later. And how do you know when the job is done?
“We take and picture. And as soon as we take a picture and send it, it goes straight to the customer.” said Glogouski.
And for snow removal companies the app has helped boost profits and efficiency.
“We’ve actually been able to buy a new plow this year, a new truck. And all those customers’ requests online helps our business substantially,” said Glogouski. “A snow like this, we could see anywhere from 50 to 100 requests in our area, and it’s pretty much pick and choose at that point.”
With more business rolling in, businesses like GreenEffect are able to quickly grow.
“We love it,” said Glogouski.
All drivers are vetted by Plowz & Mowz and carry insurance. We also checked the “per plow” prices in the area. They are very similar to what you find in the app.
