LORAIN, Ohio — Authorities have impounded a vehicle of interest in Monday night’s fatal hit-and run incident that killed a 17-year-old boy.
The vehicle is a four-door, silver 2008 Dodge Avenger.
According to the Lorain Police Department, Jayvion R. Johnson was walking in the roadway at the 300 block of West 23rd Street around 9 p.m. when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.
Johnson was thrown into a sign post in a tree lawn. The vehicle fled the scene and traveled eastbound on W. 23rd Street.
Johnson was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center and flown to St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, then to MetroHealth Medical Center. He died Tuesday morning.
